ABOUT OUR 4 Sisters Reunion Special Event

Join us for a very special celebration when these four ships will once again sail together .

June 7, 1954 was the only time the 4 IOWA CLASS battleships sailed together in their lifetime.
It was only for a few hours and only a few pictures exist to show this very special event.

Join us on June 5 - 6, 2004 when the sister ships will once again sail together to celebrate their 50th Reunion
- but this time on the airwaves!

MISSION:

To celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the only time the Four IOWA class battleships sailed together during their long history.

PLAN OF THE DAY:

Each group will operate either from the actual ship, if possible, or within view of the ship.
As each ship sets their time, we will post it here along with the call sign they will be using.

Be sure to check the DX cluster to find spotting for each of the ships.

***Since the USS IOWA is not available to the public, it will be represented by the SS Jerimiah O'Brien. The O'Brien will be underway in the bay helping us out with 4 Sisters as well as celebrating the 60th anniversary of D-day.

CERTIFICATE: (Only issued for contacting all 4 ships)

Anyone who contacts all 4 ships during this special event and would like a special certificate, can send a copy of their 4 log entries (call, time, date, frequency) plus a "donation" to the address below. Contacts will be compared to the logs submitted by each ship. If the entries are verified, a special "4 Sisters Reunion Certificate" will be issued to the operator. You only need to contact each ship at least once on any frequency or mode.

To get your special "4 Sisters Reunion" Certificate send $5.00 donation to cover cost of printing and handling and a copy of your log entries for each of the ships. Certificate requests should be sent to:
