Financial Donations

You can make tax-deductible monetary or equipment donations to support the Battleship New Jersey Amateur Radio Station.  Monetary contributions to the Club can be made at the following address:

Unless you specify the donation is for BNJARS, your donation will go to the general fund in support of the Battleship New Jersey.  

Equipment & Material Donations

Equipment donations can be made as well.  Equipment must be of the same type and style as was found on the New Jersey (or other Iowa-class battleship) during any of the three major eras that the New Jersey operated in (WW II, Viet Nam, Lebanon).  The following equipment is being sought: 

• Radios (transmitters, receivers, antenna couplers, amplifiers, CW keys, etc.)
• Test Equipment
• Equipment manuals, drawings, photos, etc.
• Furnishings
• Memorabilia from the USS New Jersey (or other battleships)
• Personal recollections and memoirs of those who served on the USS New Jersey

In addition, modern amateur radio equipment would be appreciated for operating events, including radios, suitable antennas, packet equipment, laptops, etc. 

Authentic period equipment does not have to work, so long as it is in good shape.  Volunteers will attempt to restore/recondition the equipment, and some will be just for show.

Volunteer Your Time

The Battleship New Jersey is always looking for volunteers.  If you are interested in helping out by contributing your time, please use the Contact Page.  If you don't want to become part of the Radio Club, we will put you in touch with the correct person.

Volunteers are needed for:

• Non-radio specific labor
• Restoration of the radio room and other spaces
• Restoring original equipment
• Repair of antennas, cabling, etc.
• Interior Communications equipment repair/maintenance
• As docents to give tours (you will receive training on the ship)
